About the event
According to historians, the full moon of the lunar month of Vaisakha, also known as Vesak, marks the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Siddartha Gautama, the historical figure widely honored as the Buddha.
For our first community gathering in honor of Vesak, Due will reflect on her visit to Bodhgaya during the Vesak celebrations of 2012 and share some thoughts on what neuroscience reveals about Enlightenment.
We'll then discuss passages from the Calm Clarity book that overlay the Brain 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 Framework onto the foundational teachings of the Buddha: the Four Noble Truths and the Noble EightFold Path (pages 118-120, 125-126).
