February Community Gathering: Unconditional Love

Valentine's Day has become a special occasion around the world to celebrate love and show appreciation for the people you love. 

While celebrating Valentine's Day can bring forth joy and connection, we also acknowledge that this time of the year can also trigger stress and mixed feelings for many people. For example, people can experience fear, worry, insecurity, or loneliness in Brain 1.0 and/or anxiety, reward-chasing, competitiveness, or consumption in Brain 2.0.

Because of all the above, we see this as a singular opportunity to make a difference as a community by reflecting on and generating unconditional love.  

At 7pm ET on Febraury 13, we invite you to engage in a deep and meaningful discussion around the following reflection prompts:  

1. How do you define and experience unconditional love? For example, is it like the divine altruistic love called agápē in the original Greek language of the Bible? Is it like the universal loving-kindness and compassion towards all beings called bodhicitta in Buddhists texts? 
2. How would you describe the impact of receiving unconditional love? 
3. What is the impact of giving unconditional love to yourself? 
4. What impact does giving unconditional love to another person or being have on you?
5. Would you consider the ability to generate and transmit unconditional love to be a superpower? Why or why not?
6. What enables and supports you to generate and transmit unconditional love?
